The race of races, the Tour de France l MTB. This is the Absa Cape Epic, which in 2022 has returned to its original dates. Just six months after the last edition, the cyclists have returned to South Africa to experience strong emotions and put themselves to the test.

Nearly 700 kilometres and 17,000 metres of elevation gain divided over eight days with changes to the route so that participants can find new trails and tracks. The eighteenth edition had 530 teams from 48 different countries. The Swiss Nino Shurter, XCO world champion, started as favourite with Lars Forster in the Scoot Sram team.
