Andorra is cycling territory and the parish of La Massana is the cradle of mountain biking. Its roads and trails are its best treasures. The Andorra Epic Pyrenees, a four-stage race that forms part of the exquisite Epic Series circuit, which includes the 4 Islands MTB Croatia, the Swiss Epic and the Absa Cape Epic, was held there.

The event was part of the Andorra Multiesport Festival organised by Ironman. The race presented some new features to offer a spectacular route with more mountains and more kilometres. The prologue and three online stages were replaced by four stages so that the bikers had to give their all from the first day.

More than 400 participants divided into two-person teams from 40 different countries gathered in the small country of the Pyrenees and had to face 220 kilometres and 7,760 metres of elevation gain.
